JOB TITLE: Project Assistant to the Dean of Students
REPORTS TO: Dean of Students
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Project Assistant to the Dean of Students will work directly under the Dean of Students with the purpose of designing and implementing multiple and varied projects and programs for students at Denver Seminary. These include the coordination of the programs for international students, worship, career counseling, as well as any other programs deemed essential for the purpose of retention.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
- Assist the Dean of Students on the planning, implementing and providing oversight to the different projects and programs needed.
- Serve on committees or task forces as assigned by the Dean of Students.
- Assist the international student population by coordinating services, which include but are not limited to: documentation, travel advice/information, status maintenance, on and off campus employment, housing information, pre-arrival information, post-arrival orientation and special programs, as well as helping students in emergency needs.
- Build relationships with churches and develop materials to use in preparing churches to receive international students.
- Serve as the Designated School Officer (DSO) for Student and Exchange Visitor Information Services (SEVIS) purposes.
- Plan, coordinate and oversee the implementation of Common Ground Services, which will include carrying out administrative responsibilities, such as contacting speakers, overseeing the publication of the semester's schedule, etc
- Network with local churches and other worship professionals for the benefit of the worship experience at Denver Seminary.
- Participate in the creating and implementing the project of Career Counseling to students.
- Establish a network with churches and ministries to establish a bank of resources for graduating students; coordinating events that would develop a close relationship between Denver Seminary and target institutions for that purpose.
- Develop programs with the purpose of establishing relationships and systems that will help integrate international students and minorities into the seminary community.
- Have a clear understanding of Denver Seminary Programs and the articulation of the nuances of each program to current students.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Dean of Students or Vice-President of Student Life and Enrollment Management.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required. Experience of coordinating worship for at least two years preferred. This individual must be a mature Christian with a passion for and commitment to international students. Management and strong interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task, delegate and prioritize. Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Power Point, and Excel is required. Ability to give careful attention to detail. Able to effectively and graciously confront concerns. Skills and commitment to discern and maintain confidentiality.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in an office environment and involves extensive contact with other staff members. Requires prolonged standing, sitting, and frequent bending, stooping or stretching. May require occasional lifting up to 20 pounds up to waist height. Requires eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity for computer-related duties, and the ability to distinguish letters or symbols. Requires the use of office equipment, such as a computer and keyboard, telephone, copies, and typewriter. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
