The faith community of Abiding Hope Lutheran Church is seeking a deeply passionate and qualified candidate to interview for the full time position of Youth and Children’s Discipleship Coach.

Abiding Hope is in the midst of its twentieth year as a congregation.  Located in unincorporated south Jefferson County (suburb of Denver), and nestled against the front range of the Rockies, this congregation has grown to be one of the ELCA’s largest, fastest growing, and most vibrant congregations.  The people of Abiding Hope’s immediate mission field and the membership of the congregation are overwhelmingly white, suburban, educated, upper middles class families.  The median population of the population is 33, giving Abiding Hope a distinctly youthful feel and a large cadre, nearly 500 youth below confirmation age, and another 200 youth in grades 7-12.  There are four high schools in the immediate area, Dakota Ridge, Chatfield, Columbine, and Deer Creek.  Abiding Hope fully expects to be a congregation of a growing and ever deeper discipleship, worshipping 2,500 per week, and utilizing multiple campuses, of which we currently also have a worshipping community in Highlands Ranch at Redstone Elementary.    

The vision of Abiding Hope is “to gather, empower, and send persons into the 21st Century as disciples of the living Christ.”  To that end, the person we are seeking must lead with an unashamed love for the gospel of Jesus Christ, have vision, creativity, energy, stamina, love for kids, and the gifts to equip and empower a large cadre of congregational youth ministers.  

The following is an outline of the responsibilities this person would have in this position:
1.	Develop a premier youth ministry in the areas of spiritual formation and cultivation of gifts towards service in the world.
2.	Coach all children’s and youth ministries, utilizing key stepping stones of faith and consciousness towards asset building
3.	Recruit, train, and equip both kids and adults for leadership in these ministries
4.	Empower leadership for the 2 B Loved Children’s Ministry 
5.	Provide key leadership for our 2 B Hopeful Confirmation Ministry
6.	Team with the Pastor for Discipleship for missional effectiveness in the whole of ministries offered here, including adult faith formation, worship leadership, pastoral care giving, community building, and outreach to the community and world.

Crow Hill Bible Church (Baptist General Conference) in Bailey, Colorado is seeking a qualified candidate to build on the ministry of our current Student Ministries Pastor who is moving on to a new work in world missions. Bailey is a beautiful mountain community 35 miles southwest of Denver with world-class outdoor recreation opportunities and, of course, great need for Kingdom ministry. Purpose
The Pastor of Student Ministries is responsible for the direction of Crow Hill Bible Church ministries to youth from grades 6 to 12. 7. Develops a positive, cooperative relationship with parents of students, maintaining regular communication with them and providing pastoral support and guidance.

This position is for a permanent, full-time minister to our youth in grades seven through twelve. The purpose of this position is to build upon an existing youth program that encourages students to grow in their relationship with Jesus from being introduced to Him through to full and passionate love for Him. The Youth Minister will also assist parents in the spiritual growth of their children.

- Build relationships by discipling / mentoring / shepherding students to look more like Jesus through the typical venues of Youth Group, Bible Studies, Sunday School and also through informal hang times, retreats, and service activities (both locally and overseas).

- Equip students to effectively and confidently share their faith with their friends not yet Christians.

- Recruit and build a team of adult volunteers to assist in all the above.

- Assist the Sr. Pastor in the general oversight of Dry Creek's ministries as gifts and time direct.

Specific Duties:

- Model a passionate love relationship with Jesus and His people!
- Provide relevant and substantive Biblical teaching for Jr. &amp; Sr. High students.
- Plan and lead weekly youth group activities for both middle school and senior high.
- Oversee the teaching of Sunday School for all teens.
- Develop mentoring relationships with students within formal and informal settings. (After-school connections, lunches at schools, sports, plays, music events.)
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to assist with all programs.
- Provide or oversee regular service / outreach opportunities for students.
- Plan, promote, and coordinate annual retreats / mission trips / conferences.
- Connect with school and community leaders as possible.
- Build intentional relationships with the students' parents to engender trust and partner with parents as they seek to have an effective spiritual influence with their children.
- Meet weekly with the Sr. Pastor for accountability, oversight, support, and prayer.
- Maintain regular office hours to be available to parents, students and staff, but will pace work level appropriately to minister on evenings and weekends.
- Serve wherever needed as required.

- A clear and passionate calling from God to invest in youth.
- A strong desire to work long term (3 or more years) at Dry Creek Bible Church.
- Good communication skills in both small and large groups of students and adults.
- Solid grasp of Scripture to understand and effectively communicate its principles to the issues of youth.
- Leadership skills to encourage and challenge students and adults.
- An approachable and respectful spirit that encourages students to ask questions.
- A recognition that these students ultimately belong to God but are given directly to the parents to mentor. The Youth Director's mentoring role is a sacred trust given by the parents.
- An understanding that, as a community church, Dry Creek Bible Church seeks to exercise grace in areas of doctrine where the Church has differed for centuries.
- A willingness to respond to criticism with grace and forbearance, knowing that ministry is with people of all sorts of personalities and spiritual maturity. Shepherds must keep their focus on the Shepherd.
- Flexibility and vision to adjust to changing opportunities and needs.
- Qualified to recognize and find help for at-risk youth.
- A can-do spirit that is willing to step in wherever and whenever needed.

Education:
- Minimum: A bachelor's degree from an accredited school and / or equivalent
ministry experience with demonstrated Bible knowledge.

- Preferred: Masters in Ministry from an accredited seminary and 2 or more years
experience in Youth ministry.

Compensation

This position will initially provide a salary package between $35,000 and $45,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The Youth Director will be able to divide his or her package as desired.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
To inspire Middle School and High School students and their parents to pursue God deeper, do life together and impact the world, one student at a time.

- Plan, coordinate, and direct creative, cutting-edge weekly gathering that is biblical-centered and highly impactful for Middle and High School students. Effectively integrating both &quot;small group&quot; and &quot;large group&quot; elements into the weekly gatherings.

- Grow student ministry large enough to split into Middle School and High School groups and then oversee both groups.

- Enlist students to be &quot;good news&quot; to both our local and global community, by creating regular serving opportunities.

- Organize and oversee bi-monthly doing life together groups, monthly connect events, a winter camp, a summer camp, and one global impact trip each year.

- Intentionally develop a clear spiritual formation plan to implement with students, covering the range from seeker, new believer to growing believer.

- Recruit, supervise and train a dynamic, growing Middle and High volunteer leadership team, training them monthly and intentionally shepherding them each month.

- Develop an effective follow up system for new students.

- Extend our student ministry out into our community, effectively reaching out to the unchurched students in our community.

- Communicate weekly with your leadership team, with students and parents updating and informing them on events, changes and updates in your program via email, newsletter, personal phone calls or personal meetings.

- Increase the publicity and communications for this ministry, including maintaining the student's page on the church's website.

- Set and evaluate goals with your leaders on a bi-annual basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have a passion and gifting to creatively reach this emerging generation with the life-giving message of Christ.

- Ability to recruit, train and supervise qualified volunteer leaders and ability to work with a multiple staff team while integrating student programs within the entire church ministry.

- Communication and time management/organizational skills.

- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions and work with little direct supervision.

- Have a BA in student ministry/Christian Education, or pursuing a Seminary degree, or have 2 years of full-time student min. experience in a church of 200 or more.

Limited Job Description
“Campus Life Director”
Casper Youth for Christ, Inc.


The Campus Life Director will facilitate and manage Campus Life 
to promote the mission statement of CYFC.


The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

1.	Abiding in Christ.  As demonstrated by a lifestyle of discipleship and service.
	Example:  Weekly attendance at church services, service in the community in regard to 
	Matthew 28:19-20, regular reading of scripture, prayer and fellowship.

2.	The minimum requirement for full-time staff entry into this program is a bachelor’s degree.  It is preferred that this degree be earned in the area of theology, youth ministries, sociology, or psychology.  Substitution may be made for the educational requirement through life experience credit.  

3.	Read and accept/sign, and abide by the Casper Youth for Christ, Inc. Statement of Faith, the Youth for Christ Employee Handbook and Relational Ministry Actions.

4.	Direct reporting to the Executive Director through weekly staff meetings, written weekly ministry reports, and verbal communication.

5.	Organizing weekly Campus Life Club meetings and supporting the club leaders and volunteers in the area of curriculum and supplies.  

6.	Personally leading at least one Campus Life Club.  Be available to fill in when regular club leaders are out of town or otherwise unable to lead their club. 

7.	Quarterly visits to all Campus Life Clubs for support and guidance.

8.	Recruitment and training of adult and student leaders and CL volunteers.

9.	Development and direction of activities with a purpose to maintain contact with Campus Life Club and other students throughout the year, including summer months.

10.	Serving as a CYFC liaison to school district administration and the local church in support of the CYFC mission in regards to Campus Life Clubs.

11.	Ministry hours are to total 45 hours per week and are to include (but are not limited to):
	Weekly Friday “Night Life” hours and rotating Saturday “Night Life” hours
	Office hours (including but not limited to): Tuesday 8:00 am – 2:30 pm, Wednesday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm, 	Thursday 8:00 – 12:00 pm
	Balance of hours are to be fulfilled using the Relational Ministry Actions guidelines

12.	Participation in fundraising efforts that support the general fund.
	Example (including but not limited to):  Personal fundraising using Transformational Development 	Strategies, Reaching the Every Banquet, Christmas Tree Sales, etc.

13.	Performing other jobs and duties as directed by the Executive Director.

14.	Salary Range: $35,000 - $40,000 per year with benefits
