Custer, WA: Senior Pastor at Sunrise Baptist Church

Sunrise Baptist is a country church located in Custer, WA. It was started by Swedish Missionaries in 1903 and remains in the same location with a congregation holding steady at about 275. Believers attending regularly are from diverse church backgrounds and occupations. We have a healthy age spread with emphasis on families. There is harmony among the members and a rising hunger for more of God. We look to Him for leadership and sustenance. The church actively sends as well as supports missionaries, with about 13% of the budget allocated to foreign missions.

Our church has several small group fellowships, a very healthy women's ministry, an active youth ministry, well attended Sunday School classes for all ages, a men's fellowship group as well as a senior group. We also have both a pre-school for area children that has successfully grown over the years and an active Awana program.

Sunrise functions using a blended, but worshipful music style led by dedicated personnel who rotate their duties. We value order, but listen for God's leading as we proceed.

Our pervious senior pastor served for 20 years and needed to cut back his ministry load at age 68. He left in good stead without pressure. We are currently blessed with a family pastor and a youth pastor who retain our respect, diligently contributing to the ongoing work of the ministry. We expect to benefit from the experience and dedication of another senior pastor.

We are looking for a person who is committed to the active leadership of our Lord in life and ministry. We especially desire a man and wife who value the presence of the Lord in the gatherings of God's people. We wish to participate with a man who passionately treasures the well being and spiritual health of those whom the Lord loves. We wish to honor God and make disciples who know, love and obey the Lord Jesus Christ

Kaohsiung, Taiwan: Senior Pastor at Bread of Life Church in Kaohsiung - English Fellowship

We are an international English church in Kaoshiung, Taiwan -- a primarily Chinese-speaking city. We have a congregation of 50-60 English speakers, about half of whom are Taiwanese and the rest are ex-patriates. It is a fairly young church with a fairly high turn-over rate, which means there are many opportunities to train leaders and send them back to their home countries equipped to serve in the churches there.

Our vision is twofold: to reach the English-speaking community in the city, including both Taiwanese and foreigners; and to enable Christians who come to Taiwan already Christians to grow in their faith and develop confidence in ministry so that when they return to their home countries they can be more effective witnesses for Christ.

First of all, we are looking for a pastor who will model and motivate the church to pursue a life of full devotion to Jesus Christ in his life and ministry. Secondly, we are looking for someone who will see leadership development as a priority, to mentor and guide the young leaders here and encourage others to be involved. Thirdly, pastoral care of the congregation, and we hope the pastor would make himself available and approachable to anyone in the church, and try hard to get to know all the individuals who come regularly. Fourthly, we hope that the pastor will develop a long-term goal for the church. For this reason, we hope that any candidate would be willing to commit to the church for at least 5 years, barring exceptional circumstances.

Cleveland, OH: Senior Pastor at Fellowship Bible Church

Fellowship Bible Church (FBC) is searching for a new senior pastor to lead us.

This is an opportunity to shepherd a Christ-centered bible-based evangelical church with the mission of “Win – Build – Send”. We also lift up core values of G.R.A.C.E. (Grace, Relevance, Authenticity, Community, and Extension.)

We seek a man confident that God has called him to serve, and has provided him with the right skills, experience and convictions to lead FBC into the future.

The Senior Pastor Search Team and the Board of Elders invite interested candidates to prayerfully investigate this opportunity.

Vision and Mission

Our Vision
Fellowship Bible Church exists to glorify God, caring for others as Jesus did.

Our Mission
Our Mission is to WIN people to faith in Jesus Christ; BUILD them up in their faith; and then
SEND them out to repeat the process.

Our Values
Using the simple acrostic G.R.A.C.E., the five values that guide and provide specific direction to this mission include:
1.	Grace: Grace is the core. Grace is what saves us and grace is what gives us security as believers that we are in His care. We are to live in grace all the time and our personal relationships are to be ones of extending and showing grace in all we do.
2.	Relevance: We believe the truth of the Gospel is timeless and never changes. However, culture does change and we must communicate the Gospel in a culturally-relevant way. The use of contemporary music and current artistic forms are key components to this, as well as application teaching of the Word of God.
3.	Authenticity: Simply put: we are REAL sinners who have a REAL Savior. With a commitment to truth and transparency, our ministry is marked by a genuineness that others can sense and feel.
4.	Community: We are very committed to connecting believers with each other in life-changing FBC. Honest sharing, speaking the truth in love, biblical teaching, serving and caring for one another are all hallmarks of the community we desire to become and also believe was part of the first century church.
5.	Extension: The Church does not just exist for herself, but to reach a world that desperately needs Christ. Through sharing our faith with others, as well as demonstrating that faith in acts of service and kindness, we impact our local, regional and global culture with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Church Profile

Our Church
FBC is a vibrant, independent, evangelical church located in Northeast Ohio. Founded in 1976, the church is committed to preaching and teaching the Word of God with the goals of introducing seekers to Christ and encouraging deeper growth among believers. Since its inception, FBC has been lead by the Board of Elders.

Our church always seeks to respond to the changing cultural needs of the members through worship, education, fellowship, and other ministries, while remaining grounded in the truth of God’s Word and the infallible teachings of Jesus Christ.

FBC has nearly doubled in size over the past six years. Currently, the Sunday morning attendance exceeds 1,300 people. Over the past two years, FBC has received 165 people into membership, with approximately two-thirds of the growth coming from conversions and un-churched new believers. Prompted by the continuing growth, in 2004 a new worship center seating 700 was constructed; also remodeled were the youth and educational wings. This was all accomplished while maintaining a viable and solid financial situation.

Our Church Culture
FBC emphasizes small, home based groups to cultivate authentic relationships and create a caring network that naturally uplifts the value of community and ministers to the needs of the church family. There is an abiding willingness to share burdens and to foster a spirit that is open, trusting, and warm for both members and non-members. Over half of our attendees currently are involved in small groups.

The staff and congregation share a heart for seekers and a strong desire to reach them with messages and programs reflecting the truths of the Bible. The church has a historic emphasis on missions with 20% of our annual budget allocated to international and local ministries. In addition, we organize multiple adult and youth mission trips every year. .

Our Leadership History
FBC was blessed for the first twenty-five years of its history with a highly respected and much loved Founding Pastor, Lud Golz. Pastor Golz, now our Pastor at Large, is an inspiring preacher and teacher with a passion for seeing souls saved. His shepherd’s heart is always comforting, challenging and encouraging those within his care.

Under Lud’s spiritual leadership, FBC grew from a church planting to approximately 650 people worshiping weekly. The church culture of FBC today still reflects his gifts, vision, and passions. Lud’s commitment to small groups and missions both locally and internationally remain a vibrant part of our fabric.

In January 2002, Jamie Rasmussen succeeded Lud Golz. It was a successful transition-- in large part due to the character of both men. Under Jamie’s leadership, FBC more than doubled in size, and entered into a new era of evangelism and growth. Guided by Jamie’s leadership, FBC completed the facility expansion, the hiring of multiple staff, and the restructuring of our ministry plan.

Jamie also brought the gift of leadership to his role as Senior Pastor, as well as almost 20 years of experience in church growth. In October, 2007 Jamie was called to assume the role of Senior Pastor at the Scottsdale Bible Church. He remains a Christ-directed visionary for the 21st century church.

Our Staff
Our current ministry staff is comprised of seventeen individuals. The staff includes:
• Executive Pastor
• Pastor-at-large,
• Associate Pastor
• Pastor of Worship and Creative Arts Ministry & Associate for Worship and Creative Arts Ministry
• Pastor of Adult Ministries & Ministry Associate for Adult Ministries
• Middle School Director
• Director of Children’s Ministries
• Pastor of Student Ministries
• Pastor of Administration
• Ministry Associate of Finance, Office Administrator, and Office Assistant

The staff at FBC is collegial, respectful, professional, open, and honest. They represent a hard working, task oriented group which is willing to be part of a learning community. In addition, they maintain strong family lives and their families are well integrated into the church. Their wide range of abilities and personality styles are a good reflection of our church as a whole. The recent addition of an Executive Pastor was met with overwhelming affirmation and expectancy.

The staff members’ goals are aligned with the overall vision of the church. They are empowered to work independently in carrying out their responsibilities. However, as a team they function collaboratively in a weekly three hour, all-inclusive staff meeting. Staff members value authenticity and communication from the Senior Pastor and each other. Effective communication must be honest, direct, speak the truth in love with consistency, and never compromise the trust within the team. As the church searches for a new Senior Pastor, the staff is hopeful that the man selected will be both relational and visionary in his style of leadership.

For more information on our church please visit: www.fellowshipcleveland.com

Senior Pastor Profile

Role
The role of the Senior Pastor is to glorify God by ensuring the accurate application of God’s Word in all areas of church ministry through doctrinally sound, practical preaching, teaching and discerning the Lord’s direction for leadership. This is to be implemented through pastoral care, counseling, evangelism and missions.

The Senior Pastor serves as a member of the Elder Board.

Responsibilities
The Senior Pastor is the primary preacher, teacher, shepherd and leader of FBC under the policy direction of the Board of Elders. The Senior Pastor will discern God’s vision for the future of FBC and under his strong leadership he will lead us to establish the appropriate goals and objectives of our church.

The four core areas of responsibility include:

•	Preaching and Teaching Practical Application of God’s Word: The Senior Pastor will proclaim God’s Word clearly and truthfully through expository, grace-orientated, and life application teaching through the Holy Spirit. The Senior Pastor will prepare and preach at least 42 Christ-centered sermons and worship services each year that support our vision and mission statements. As the primary preacher and teacher of the Word of God, he will put the congregation on the path to a deeper walk with the Lord, a growing prayer life and foster discipleship, all for the desired outcome of spiritual maturity.

•	Shepherding through Leadership: The Senior Pastor will work in conjunction with the Board of Elders to discern God’s direction and cast the vision for FBC. He will then work directly with the Executive Pastor to implement the vision through a shared development and execution of the strategic plan. The Senior Pastor will lead and empower the body with a servant’s heart, and will maintain a relational awareness and a pastoral demeanor while exhibiting contagious enthusiasm. He is responsible to teach and lead the Board of Elders in spiritual development. He is charged with teaching the congregation the principles of stewardship and biblical giving.

•	Pastoral Care and Counseling: The Senior Pastor will be capable and accessible to provide compassionate counseling and prayer for those in the midst of crisis or significant events where pastoral care is needed. If extended counseling is required, the Senior Pastor may defer to other staff or qualified professionals.

•	Evangelism and Missions: The Senior Pastor will lead the effort to win the lost and un-churched in the greater Chagrin Valley community through prayer and preaching of the gospel truth on all occasions and opportunities. He will also fervently support the establishment of churches and missions locally, nationally, and globally.

The Person
The qualified candidate for Senior Pastor must have a strong prayer life and an intimate personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He must also have a minimum of five years experience as a pastor in a bible-believing church. An ideal candidate will be a Spirit-led preacher and teacher who supports our vision and mission statements through grace-oriented teaching. He will also have an evangelical fervor and demonstrate servant leadership with humility. He must possess deep knowledge of the scripture and be in full agreement with the doctrinal position of FBC.
See http://www.fellowshipcleveland.com/whatwebelieve.html.

Other professional and personal characteristics needed in the Senior Pastor include:

•	Fulfilling the Biblical qualifications for church leadership (1 Tim 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9)
•	Agreeing completely with FBC’s Vision, Purpose, Values, and Beliefs
•	Understanding how organizations function, yet being able to let the Executive Pastor manage the day to day church operations
•	Having the ability to inspire and motivate people
•	Casting and communicating the church’s vision with contagious enthusiasm
•	Working effectively with an elder board

Education
The candidate must be an ordained pastor and have a Bachelors Degree, preferably with emphasis in ministry. Advanced degrees, such as a Masters of Divinity, would be strongly preferred.

Search & Selection Process

This is a nationwide search for the person God has prepared to help FBC meet the needs of the congregation. The church has retained a professional search firm, ASLON Group, LLC, (ASLON) which will develop the candidate pool, do initial screening and check references. ASLON will act as a liaison throughout the entire search process.

ASLON will present a candidate short-list to the Senior Pastor Search Team (SPST). The SPST consists of seven members, two of whom are elders. This team will be focused on the interviews, church visits, and assessments of the candidate. The SPST will prayerfully select and present a candidate finalist to the Elder Board for consideration. A unanimous approval vote by the Elder Board will allow for the candidate finalist to be affirmed by the congregation.

There are ten Search Advisory Groups representing a cross-section of the ministries within FBC. The Search Advisory Groups, a series of Focus Groups open to all of the congregation, and a Congregational Survey have been used in formulating this Position Profile and assessment criteria. The Search Advisory Groups also will be a valuable resource for the candidate finalist as he prayerfully considers the calling.

The Board of Elders, SPST and ASLON will work together to insure that the search process maintains integrity and is fair, considerate, and thorough. Every effort will be made to maintain confidentiality for all candidates until the point the person is introduced to the church body as a whole. All candidates considered will go through the same evaluation process and all prospective candidates will deal directly with the search firm.

Compensation
A competitive salary based on experience and appropriate to the size and budget of FBC will be offered at the time of hiring.

Scriptures for Reflection
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves he should do it with the strength God provides. So that, in all things, God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, and power for ever and ever, Amen
(1 Peter 4:10-11)

For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified, I came to you in weakness, and fear, and with much trembling. My message and preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on man’s wisdom, but on God’s power. (1Cor. 2:2-5)
I am the vine and you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)

To them God has chosen to make know among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you the hope of glory. (Col 1:27)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, that transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and mind in Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:6-7)

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)

Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding. (Jer. 3:15)

Bettendorf, IA: Pastor at Pleasant View Baptist Church

Pleasant View Baptist Church is a forty year old congregation of 110 worshipers affiliated with the Baptist General Conference and located in Bettendorf, which is in eastern Iowa, also known as the Quad Cities area.

We are seeking a man of God who will serve as our pastor to lead us in bringing a focus to our ministry efforts by simplifying our structure, strengthening our leadership, and aligning our ministries to our vision. We understand our vision to be a process of spiritual growth: CONNECTING with God through salvation and worship, GROWING spiritually through deepening relationships with God and with others in the church, gaining and applying Biblical knowledge, and SERVING the kingdom of God by using the gifts given by the Spirit in ministry and mission. This will mean bringing the importance of discipleship and evangelism to the same level as worship.

It is our hope to find someone with a seminary degree (but not required) and with at least four years of pastoral experience, preferably in a multi-staff situation. We would like him to be energized by being with people, be able to initiate action, be able see the big picture and not get hung up in the details. We want him to have an authority style of serving with the elders to govern the church, understanding that he will be over-ruled at times. He must accept the responsibility, and be held accountable, to lead and achieve the ministry goals to realize our vision. We want him to be able to lead by persuasion and be excellent at implementing and improving ministries. We are looking for a man with ministry gifts in the areas of preaching, discipling, faith, and planning. We are expecting that his primary ministry role will be to be our preacher and teacher and that he be able to equip others for ministry. His primary preaching style will need to expository and he needs to be committed to maintaining, at least at this time, a blended worship style.

Our annual financial package totals $61,700, three weeks vacation, and a few other benefits.
If you believe you might be the one to serve as our pastor, please send your resume to Pleasant View Baptist Church, ATTN: Jeff Scherer, 6400 Crow Creek Road, Bettendorf, IA. 52722, or email it to pvbcpastor@hotmail.com.

Grand Forks, North Dakota: Senior Pastor at Faith Evangelical Free Church

Opportunity Profile
for the position of

Senior Pastor, Faith Evangelical Free Church
Grand Forks, North Dakota

December 3, 2007

Overview

Faith Evangelical Free Church (www.faithfree.com) is committed to becoming a community of Christ-like believers; glorifying God by integrating Biblical truth in to their daily lives through the power of the Holy Spirit; resulting in significant impact in the world now and for eternity.

Faith was founded in 1963 and since 1972 she has been led by Pastor Victor (Vic) Luiken. During these 35 years under Pastor Vic's leadership the church has been marked by his unwavering commitment to God's Word and Biblical teaching. The church and surrounding community has grown to love and respect Pastor Vic and are grateful for his faithful service.

Pastor Vic has announced his intention to retire as soon as a suitable successor is identified. It is the desire of Pastor Vic and the leadership of Faith EFC to pass the baton of leadership to God's chosen successor and bless this new leader as Pastor Vic transitions out of his formal leadership role.

During the past year the church has appointed teams to prayerfully and strategically facilitate this succession. There have been town hall meetings, interviews with dozens of congregants and many meetings with the Elders, Staff and the Process team (charged with facilitating the transition process). All of this input has been distilled down and captured and it will serve as the compass in the search for the new Senior Pastor.

While Faith EFC is thankful for her rich history, there is a high degree of readiness to move into a new chapter of even greater ministry impact. Many are praying daily for the new leader that God will bring to build upon the strong foundation that has been laid.

While honoring the past, the church doesn't want to live in the past. Faith EFC is ready to exercise even more of her full redemptive potential under the leadership of their new Senior Pastor.

The new Pastor will first and foremost be passionately pursuing their relationship with Christ. The overflow of this vital relationship will be seen in Christ-like leadership - leadership that is motivated by a desire to serve.

This "Servant Leader" will enter into the life of the congregation with curiosity and sincerity. They will ask great questions, listen and work hard to build open and authentic (real) relationships with the congregants and the community. The sheep will eventually recognize the distinct voice of their new Shepherd because they know him.

As this Shepherd gets to know and understand the Congregation, the Staff and Elders, God will begin to impart a fresh vision for Faith EFC. This vision will be based on an accurate understanding of the church, the community and the culture. The Shepherd will invite the Staff and Elders into the process of refinement and formation of the vision and then work to align ministry initiatives and budget priorities that reflect the agreed upon vision and values.

While leading the congregation towards this preferred future the Senior Pastor, Staff and Elders will also work together to sustain the core convictions of the church. While ministry approaches or programs may change, the commitment to Biblically grounded teaching and God's inerrant Word will never change.

They will demonstrate a unifying Pastoral leadership as they invite congregants into this compelling new vision that builds on the strengths of Faith EFC while going after the opportunities before her.

The Community
Grand Forks, North Dakota consistently ranks as one of the most livable small metropolitan areas in the country, possessing an exceptionally clean, safe and stress-free environment. The public school system is highly rated; it was recently ranked 14th out of 362 school systems for metropolitan areas in the nation, and has consistently been named among the top 100 best communities for music education in America. It is home to the University of North Dakota, a doctoral-granting institution with 13,000 undergraduate and graduate students, which provides for a wide range of activities in culture, music, theater, and sports competition. The economy is stable and growing because of the favorable business climate. The community is ranked in the top 100 best places for doing business in America (30th for small metro areas).

Although the majority of the community comes from Scandinavian heritage, the area is quickly becoming more ethnically diverse because of the educational opportunities offered at UND. There is strong support for the athletic programs at UND (especially Hockey) and strong sense of community in general. Grand Forks / East Grand Forks together provide many amenities and opportunities while maintaining the values of a small metropolitan community.

East Grand Forks population 8,200+

Hershey, PA: Senior Pastor at Evangelical Free Church of Hershey

Opportunity Profile
for the position of

Senior Pastor, Evangelical Free Church of Hershey
Hershey, Pennsylvania

January, 2008

Overview:
The mission of the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey (EFCH) is "Pointing people to Jesus Christ so that together we become more and more like Him." It is the desire of the church to become a congregation that truly pleases the Lord Jesus Christ; fulfilling the purpose He has given us as a congregation. In order to continually do greater things for the Kingdom of Christ, the church recognizes its need to be stretched.

As part of this "stretching" EFCH (www.hersheyfree.com) is searching for a new senior pastor. Dave Martin, the only senior pastor the church has known, has led with an unwavering commitment to God's Word for the past 35 years. This has become an important part of the spiritual DNA for the church. Pastor Dave is sensing God's leading to transition out of the Senior Pastor role.

The elders and a transition team of EFCH are working in partnership with the Eastern District Superintendent, Steve Musser, to prepare for the leadership transition. They plan to find Pastor Dave's successor within a time frame that allows for a period of orientation.

The Evangelical Free Church of Hershey is a congregation that has enjoyed a rich history of deeply rooted Bible teaching, inspiring worship, strong missions focus, and church planting throughout the region. The church has impacted many lives and experienced a long period of exponential growth as attendees were drawn near to Christ and transformed by the Word.

In the last decade, challenges, which created a loss of momentum in a historically growth-oriented church, have occurred. There have been two capital campaigns and several ministry initiatives that were only warmly received by the congregation. The inability to successfully carry out these initiatives resulted in a general sense of confusion. This has led to a trickling attendance decline. Despite the decline, the regular attendance is approximately 2575 (adults, youth & children). However, there is a spirit of expectancy as the church prepares for this new chapter to unfold.

The Opportunity:
While EFCH has a rich history, it does not want to live in the past. There is prayerful hope that God will use this transition to bring a fresh vision and a renewed commitment to its mission. The leaders in the church have confidence that a solid foundation exists upon which a new pastor will be blessed to build.

The new Senior Pastor will strategically invest in the life of the church and discern, with the help of others, the distinct identity and future focus. He will be eager to learn about EFCH and the surrounding area by studying the results of the recent organizational consulting data, and by meeting with staff, elders, and key stakeholders. He will be able to align staff and ministries under a unifying vision for the church. He will bring keen insight and have proven experience in developing appropriate organizational structures, clarifying leadership roles, and establishing values-driven resource allocation.

He will also mentor and develop staff and lay leaders. The new Pastor will view himself as the spiritual shepherd of the staff and be an example of servant leadership that they can emulate.

In addition to being a strategic leader, the new Pastor will be an excellent expository preacher/teacher who can bridge the truth with real-life application. He will maintain the distinctive of EFCH as a teaching church and will challenge both the head and the heart through transformational teaching of God's Word.

The new Pastor that God brings to EFCH will clarify its vision and distinctive role in God's Kingdom. He will be committed to carrying out the Great Commission and Great Commandment both locally and internationally.

Church Facts:
The church has a 23-acre site with 88,400 sq. ft. of ministry space, including an 1100 seat worship center. In addition, the church owns a 100-acre site a few miles from the church that it hopes to use for sports ministry, community outreach, and a possible future second campus.

Currently there are 33 full-time and 12 part-time staff with 12 pastors and an annual budget of $3,568,225.00 which includes a mission's budget of $1,016,581.00. Current total attendance (adults, youth, and children) averages 2575. The high average attendance took place in 1999 and was 3184.

The Hershey Area:
Hershey, Pennsylvania,(population 12,771) is located in a moderately populated geographic area of south central Pennsylvania. The greater Hershey area enjoys a unique balance of scenic, agricultural landscape and small-town living blended with a close proximity to the major metropolitan areas of Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York City, and Baltimore.

Many residents and visitors enjoy camping, hunting, and fishing in Pennsylvania's numerous state parks and woodlands as well as skiing in the nearby Pocono Mountains. Others avidly follow their favorite high school, college and professional minor league sports teams in the area throughout the year. Farmers markets, auctions, seasonal festivals, and community activities abound.

Hershey is well known for the chocolate company that bears its name, and for its amusement park enjoyed by thousands every year. The generous legacy of its founder continues to this day through the Milton Hershey School for disadvantaged children. The ever-expanding Hershey Medical Center is renowned for its research and treatment in cardiology, oncology, and other advanced fields. The affairs of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are governed in the nearby state capital of Harrisburg.

The people of the EFCH have a variety of K-12 schooling options, depending on the actual town in which they reside and on personal preferences. Hershey is located within the tri-county area of Dauphin, Lebanon, and Lancaster, each having several school districts. Additionally, a variety of Christian (and other) private schools are available within the area, and some choose to home school. For college education, the Penn State system is highly prevalent throughout the region. There are also a number of smaller, private institutions in the area.

Where is this person now?
Most likely, this person is currently serving as the Senior Pastor of a large, thriving evangelical church. It is also possible that he is serving in a senior level associate role where there are frequent speaking opportunities and the forum to lead significant ministry initiatives.

Qualifications:
-Meets the qualifications of an overseer/elder as described in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

-M DIV or an equivalent degree from a reputable evangelical seminary or an advanced degree with demonstrated evangelical biblical scholarship.

-Ordained to the ministry. If not ordained by the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), the candidate must be willing to pursue ordination in the EFCA and be able to meet all the standards for ordination by that body.

-Agrees with the doctrinal beliefs of EFCH (see web site).

-Minimum of 10 years of progressively advancing leadership experience. Currently serving in a thriving church or other successful ministry.

Inquiry Process:
If you believe that you are the kind of strategic Pastor/Shepherd described in this profile, and after prayer you sense that God is leading you towards this opportunity, we encourage you to submit your name for consideration. 3. Please share (in bullet point format) your ministry philosophy and how you would align ministry priorities if you were serving in this role.

4. Why do you believe that the timing is right for you to transition into this role?

Green Bay, WI: Senior Pastor at Green Bay Community Church

To answer a key question first: No, the next senior pastor of Green Bay Community Church does not have to be a Packers fan. However, it probably would not hurt to at least be a supportive observer! The memories that continue to come from Lambeau Field are an important part of community life in this city. However, just a few miles to the northwest, 1600+ followers of Jesus Christ gather on Saturday night and in two Sunday services with a passion to daily live out their faith in this community of 150,000 people. Their next Senior Pastor will be a leader who openly models an authentic walk with God and lives with a passion to reach this community.., whether or not they bleed green and gold!

The Green Bay area offers four-seasons living to any outdoor enthusiasts, while also enjoying the amenities of mid-size city life. There is a long-time Catholic and Lutheran influence throughout the region. For over forty years the history of the area has included many stories of how Gods grace, shared through the ministries and people of this church, has been life-changing. Yet as you visit and meet the people who are part of Green Bay Community Church, there is a vision of even greater outreach and impact for the future.

They already have many first-generation believers from very diverse spiritual (and nonspiritual) backgrounds. The church desires the next senior pastor to continue to build on GBCCs commitment to people from all walks of life who are seeking answers to lifes many challenges.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Green Bay Community Church began in 1967 as a non-denominational church plant. They are known for reaching into the community in relevant ways to touch every day lives with the love of God. Their church strives to constantly reflect their values - namely the Three Rs:
Revelation - Christianity is a revealed faith, based in revelation, which is Gods recorded Word. The Bible is the authority upon which all life should be based.
Relevancy - it is vital that the message be communicated through means and methods that connect with the culture of the day.
Relationships - relationships have a deep impact upon and change people. The Bible, communicated in a straightforward, practical way, will result in shaping positive relationships with all people.

The church has a wonderful facility that was all built in the last eleven years. Phase I(1997) consisted of 45,000 square feet that included the 14,000 sq. ft. auditorium/gym, large glassed-in foyer, with the office space and classrooms needed to support the growth. In 2001 they added more educational space with a Youth Center, rehearsal room and Chapel, bringing the total square feet to over 100,000. The Master Plan still anticipates adding a worship area with theater-style seating when needed. The space reflects the heart of the church with its attractive functionality to allow for diverse ministries (e.g. dinner theatre, Family Tree House between Sunday services, area-wide seminars, etc) and relationship-building in the spacious hallways and foyers. For an overview of their priorities and ministries, click on the website at: www.gbcommunitychurch.com.

For over twenty years Joe Urcavich has served faithfully in leading Green Bay Community Church. He has been working with the elders to proactively create a succession plan that hands-off the church to the next senior pastor who God is calling. Joes life and ministry embodies a God-honoring transparency that emphasizes the relevancy of Christ in every-day life. His sermons punctuate this reality by being vulnerable and real in applying the Bible. To encourage the smoothest possible transition the church has enlisted the services of Russ Crabtree, co-author of The Elephant in the Boardroom, who is an expert on pastoral succession. Under his guidance the church has completed a survey to measure the health of the church. The results of this document are available in a Vital Signs document that gives a thorough overview to potential candidates. It is a written review that points to the specific opportunities and challenges faced by a church that has much to celebrate while focusing on continued excellence!

CANDIDATE CRITERIA
The next senior pastor of Green Bay Community Church will be a leader with a vision for equipping the body and reaching the community. His love for people and personal walk with Christ will be infectious and compelling. As a gifted communicator, his messages will give a personal and real challenge from the Scriptures that affect everyday life. He will be a mentor of leaders and a team builder of staff. The senior pastor will have a passion for creativity and innovation while reaching out in culturally relevant ways. He will help the church continue the emphasis on loving imperfect people, just as they have each experienced Gods love through their imperfections. His marriage and family will be a testimony of commitment to loving relationships with an emphasis on a balanced life.

To specifically name a few key qualifications, the ideal candidate will have:
1. Graduate degree in Theology or Biblical Studies.
2. A growing, energetic relationship with Jesus Christ.
3. Experience with varied and contemporary methods of teaching and worship
4. Strategic leadership experience in a multi-staff team environment

WHERE MIGHT WE FIND THIS INDIVIDUAL TODAY?
1. Senior Pastor at another church who senses a call to a new opportunity
2. Effective Associate Pastor, in a large church, who feels called to step into the Senior Pastor role
3. Teaching Pastor at a large church who desires to serve as a Senior Pastor
4. Teaching in a Christian college or Seminary
5. Strategic leadership or teaching role in a faith-based ministry setting

INQUIRY PROCESS
We have found that one can learn only so much from a resume. In order to help us receive a more complete picture of you and your interest in Green Bay Community Church, please provide succinct responses to the following questions:
1. Share your personal faith story. Describe how your walk with God began but also focus on how you practice your faith every day.
2. What is compelling you to explore this opportunity? What parts of the Green Bay Community Church story attracts you to this position?
3. Give a brief overview of your current organizations leadership structure. What are two or three key strengths you bring to organizational leadership?
4. Describe your preaching and teaching approach. How do you define expository preaching?

Please provide a minimum of five references (including at least two subordinates and a peer). Include phone and email information for each reference. We will not contact references until later in the process and only with your approval.
Please submit your resume or CV, a photo, web links to two recordings of recent
messages and answers to these questions (Word format) to:

Bay Village, OH: Senior Pastor at Bay Presbyterian Church

Bay Presbyterian Church has always been a church on the move. From its founding in 1912 as a Sunday School for children who could not make the 2-1/2 mile, dirt-road trip to the only church in Bay Village, to its explosive growth as it faithfully ministered to Clevelands West Shore communities, to its current call as a leading catalyst for Christs redemptive work in Northeast Ohio, Bay Presbyterian Church (BPC) is a suburban church that has never accepted the status quo of suburban life.

Today, through Gods grace, Bay Presbyterian is poised for the next critical step in its Christ-centered witness. After more than 30 years as BPCs senior pastor, Hu Auburn will soon retire, leaving behind a unified and focused congregation that is immensely grateful for his years of guidance, yet also ready for the future.

Over the years, one of the defining traits of Bay Presbyterian Church has been its ability to train, equip and inspire its congregation and staff for ministry. Many of these individuals, once they have seen Christ at work first hand within the churchs walls, have responded in faith by initiating their own ministries both inside and outside BPC often with the active support of the church itself. This is truly an empowered congregation.

It is our hope that our new senior pastor will not only cherish BPCs unique entrepreneurial character, but also further develop it through his or her own passion and gifts. We believe our church will continue to thrive only through the leadership of a person who is totally committed to Christ one who will teach with joy and authenticity, who will seek and follow Gods will, who will inspire others to surrender to His service, and who will risk all in obedience to Him.

To help identify the best individual for this exciting opportunity, BPCs Pastor Nominating Committee has enlisted the services of People Management International (www.peoplemanagement.org), a search firm with extensive experience in faith-based personnel recruitment. Please direct all inquiries to Tim Cox, Senior Consultant, at tcox@peoplemanagement.org as explained in the Application Process.
