Description:
Corona Presbyterian Church in Denver, Colorado is seeking a Chancel Choir Director of Music. The choir director provides Christ-centered music ministry leadership and oversight of traditional worship programs. The Choir Director will assist the Senior Pastor at one Sunday morning service and seasonal services in cooperation with the contemporary worship director, the Accompanist, the Worship Committee of the Session, and the church staff. Responsibilities include choir rehearsals, choir member recruitment, spiritual support, coordinate “special music” contributors, collaborate with the Contemporary Worship Leader, coordinate lay-led children’s choir time, musical selection, anthems and offertories. The choir director should also administer instrument maintenance, the music library, and the music department budget.
Other Terms of Employment:
1. The Choir Director is a part-time (10 hours per week) position. A schedule of hours will be developed with the Senior Pastor and staff.
2. The salary and benefits for this position will be specified in the “Contract for Employment”. Salary is expected to be $9,000 annually.
3. Experience and education in choral music is preferred.
4. A performance review by the Personnel Committee will be held after 90 days.
