Lead Effectively by Being Me
Lead effectively by “being me”
is what we’re about.
You honor God by becoming what he has made you to be, not by trying to become what he hasn’t made you.
Yet, making “lasting change in me”
is also what we’re about.
But we don’t change students into other people. We change students into “a better me.” We teach them to ask,
“How can I use what I’ve got?” rather than,
“How can I be what I’m not?”
We also teach students how to bring lasting change to others. Short term change brings guilt when the short term ends. Lasting change brings long term fulfillment. The new me is a new ME, not a new someone else. That’s why it’s lasting. It’s easier to be the “me” that God made because he helps me to be what he made.
